Questions
How do I add GCT or VAT to a price?
Multiply the price by the rate. For 15% GCT on 1,000, the tax is 1,000 × 0.15 = 150, so the total is 1,150.
How do I take GCT or VAT out of a price?
Divide the price by 1 plus the rate. For 1,150 including 15% GCT, the price before tax is 1,150 ÷ 1.15 = 1,000, and the tax is 150. Taking 15% off 1,150 gives the wrong answer.
